So this time around, our "guide," Dan, was amenable to three men in his bass boat. Normally, we roll with two, since Dan is 6'4" and so am I...but this time, we put Wayne in the middle of the boat, and all of us rocked our last trip to Weldon, NC, this Spring. This was a Sunday trip, 5/24/08, and we didn't bust it to get there at the crack of dawn as we oftentimes do. Interestingly, the bite has been hitting us later in the morning and throughout the afternoon, so long as one finds a spot in the river where there are fish.
And of course our bait is critical to catching good sized fish...I believe the final tally was Tom - 10; Dan - 8; and Wayne - 7. All in all though, a good day on the water.
So here are some pics from this last trip. All fun, as usual. What a great thing that we pool our resources to get out on the H20 to slay the striper! (Actually, we practice catch and release).
Wayne + nice striper!
Doubler!!! Very nice.
Wayne and another decent striper.
Lunch... brats from the grill the night before!!!

You didnt mention the best part of the day.. Wayne and I were catching fish on live EELS, which are pretty creepy to put on the hook. Tom finally went to his happy place, and showed those slimy snakelike creatures who was in charge..
True. I didn't want to let the rest of the world know our sweet bait trick!
